Looking for a handout

We have a lot of birds by work. This common sparrow was looking for a handout from his perch in the Ficus, right outside the Maricopa County Admin Building

Luhrs Tower

This is the backside of the Luhrs Tower, on Jefferson and 1st ave in downtown Phoenix.
It's also one of the very, very few buildings in the county that have real fire escapes.

Yup. Thats right. Farmed Shrimp. I guess every year Gila Bend has a Shrimp-fest. Certainly NOT what I would have expected to find in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. If I remember I'll go back when it's Shrimpfest time!
