NYPD Pizzeria

My favorite Pizza in AZ, NYPD. It really is the closest to NY pizza, I should know, I grew up eating the stuff :)
The also have canolis and zeppoles for dessert. This one is in Peoria at 83rd Ave & Union Hills. They have several in the valley and all decorated a little different, but the main theme is the same-subway walls, street signs and the classic tiny floor tiles (that are exactly the same as the ones in our bathroom in Queens)

Pansies in January?

You betcha, in Phoenix any way. These are growing at the AZ Heritage & Science Park, located near 7th Street and Adams. I'll post more about that, as there are several museums and attractions there.

Hob Nob Coffee House

If I remember correctly, this was on N. 3rd Avenue. I was trying to get a shot of their Reindeer topiaries- they are playing musical instruments......

The building appears to have some renovation going on. The windows used to be boarded up. Too bad the buildning next had been demolished for a crappy glass building complex, it would have been to have the corner restored.

Barrows Furniture

This is one of the very few painted building ad's I've seen in Phoenix. This is on Jackson Street near 6th Avenue. Looks like they are getting ready to paint the building so this ad may not be there for much longer.

Farmer John's Meat Packing

It looks very closed for business, but the art-work covers the entire structure. It's in good shape given that next door ( the Maricopa County Homeless Shelter) is a HUGE pocket of criminal activity. Note the cute pigs on the roof too.

Mel's Diner

Located by Grand Avenue & 17th Avenue (I think) One of the only true diners in Phoenix.
Shame they were closed already by the time we drove by.
