The building appears to have some renovation going on. The windows used to be boarded up. Too bad the buildning next had been demolished for a crappy glass building complex, it would have been to have the corner restored.
I hope they put this one to good use. It's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love passing by and just staring at it. I don't think Phoenix appreciates a lot of our historical sites and buildings.
ReplyDeleteI used to go to school here and within this building on the second story is a mural of Martin Luther King Jr. done by the whole student body of the 7th grade in 1976. I think it was amazing and I believe the mural is still intact within the structure. I had spoken with a homeless person that claims he was in the building and had seen it. I hope it is renovated and put to use at some time.
